“We had more than 1000 answers in one day using Survicate's NPS surveys. We redirected those who gave us 9 or 10 to leave a rating online. We went from 4.2 to 4.8 on Trustpilot.”

Run multi-channel customer feedback surveys in a snap
“Survicate integration capabilities are great and that’s a big part of the appeal. And the platform itself is very innovative and it’s so easy to set up surveys.”
“The targeting aspect of product surveys, the number of question types to choose and customizable attributes make Survicate the best survey tool I've ever used.”
What is Survicate's product feature prioritization survey?
As the name suggests, Survicate's feature prioritization survey helps you get users involved in building your product roadmap. It's a short and sweet questionnaire that presents users with chosen feature ideas and streamlines your product research. It asks them to pick priorities and justify why they are important to them.
Why use a survey to prioritize features in your product roadmap?
First of all, a product roadmap is an important strategic document that deserves extra effort.Â
Secondly, processing all the feature requests you've been collecting and deciding what items to include in the roadmap and how to prioritize them is quite a feat. With large volumes of requests, it's easy to lose perspective.Â
You risk ending up with a dry list of random features rather than a strategic document with an implementation plan that ties to long-term business goals.Â
Extra help from users in the shape of their votes will help. By properly segmenting your feature prioritization survey and having the right sample size, you can collect quantitative data and qualitative feedback that clearly point to why a feature needs to be included in the roadmap.Â
Having all the user feedback accumulated, paired with quantitative data, and tied to user segments will paint a clear picture of what needs to be implemented and why.Â
Finally, there are stakeholders - every single one with a different idea of what should be developed. The more stakeholders, the more visions that you cannot pursue.Â
Inviting users to take the feature prioritization survey and weigh in with their choices can save the day when you need to prove your decisions right. User feedback and quantitative data should secure buy-ins from your stakeholders, remove subjectivity when making product decisions, and keep team morale high.
In a nutshell, a product feature prioritization survey enables you to:
Gain additional evidence that validates your product development choices
Decide on the feature priority based on objective, quantitative dataÂ
Create alignment across the development team and obtain stakeholders' buy-in
See clearly how the features on your product roadmap tie to business objectives.
Build an informative, motivational, and aspirational product roadmap based on users' input.

What questions to ask in a feature prioritization survey?
The structure of the survey is anything but complicated. :) It consists of two survey questions only:Â
One asks to prioritize features you've listed. (You can enable optional comments by every response option and entice users to justify their choices.)Â
The other one asks users why the feature they've chosen as a number one is so important to them.Â
Click the button above the page (next to the template's preview) and sign up with your business email. By doing so, you're signing up for a Flexible account. You can use our tool for free until you collect 100 responses.
‍
2. Edit and customize the survey to your needs.Â
The first of the two feature prioritization survey questions encourages users to prioritize the features you should implement. Type in the list of features you're considering.Â
The second question is universal - applicable to all contexts. You can include it in your survey as it is. Optionally, you can tweak its tone of voice to make it more appealing to your audience.Â
Once you've edited the survey template, it's time to configure it to meet your needs. In this step, you can decide which tool you're going to distribute the survey with.Â
In the case of this survey template, either use a marketing automation platform like Active Campaign or Mailchimp or use your CRM.Â
Select the preferred 3rd-party tool from the drop-down list in the platform to be able to identify respondents. It's an optional step at this point. But we recommend taking it. This way, the survey responses won't be anonymous to you. You'll be able to get back to respondents and ask for more feedback if needed.
Other than choosing the distribution channel, decide on enabling users to take the survey more than once and set the deadline for the campaign to avoid spamming or leaving respondents hanging without a response.
Failing to close the feedback loop is detrimental to the image of your brand and the relationship with customers. Yet, it can happen if you don't design the automation flow or, quite simply, forget you run a feedback campaign. Make sure you set a closing date to stay on top of the conversations you've started.Â
‍
4. Connect 3rd party tools and distribute the survey
Now, it's time to enable the integrations with CRMs, marketing automation tools, or collaboration software you want to use in the campaign. It takes just a couple of steps and does not require coding skills. Simply follow the guidelines in the tool!
Survicate also offers a Feedback Hub feature, enabling you to collect and process all kinds of feedback from various sources. (Including audio feedback, which the tool transcribes for you to analyze.)Â
