Collecting customer feedback is always a safe bet if you’re looking for a way to improve your business. From lowering churn, increasing product stickiness, and enhancing revenue—gathering customer feedback has plenty of benefits.

However, there are also plenty of tools built for this purpose. One of them is Qualaroo, “user research and customer feedback software,” as they dub themselves. Launched by the same people behind Proprofs, Qualaroo is a popular option for any company looking to collect customer insights.

But is the perfect solution for everyone?

Certainly, not. No tool is perfect.

That's why, in this article we'll cover seven best Qualaroo alternatives you should consider if this customer feedback software platform is not your cup of tea.

A word about Qualaroo

Qualaroo boldly claims that their feedback software is 10x more valuable than email surveys when you land on their website.

To get to this point, Qualaroo offers several different tools in one:

  • Online surveys,
  • Product and in-app feedback,
  • AI sentiment analysis of the feedback you receive.

In short, surveys, their varieties, and widgets for collecting feedback. In turn, the AI sentiment analysis works by analyzing keywords from your customers’ feedback to let you know whether their feedback is positive quickly.

Some more basic information about Qualaroo includes:

  • Qualaroo Proprofs is a tool typically designed for user research and product research and used by UX designers and product managers.
  • Qualaroo is free if you are okay with being limited to 50 responses. This will likely not be enough for a business, so you’ll have to invest.
  • Paid plans start at $39.99 per month if you pay for a year upfront. Otherwise, it's at least $79.99 monthly per each 100 responses per month.
  • G2 reviews rate this tool at 4.3 out of 5, with nearly 50 reviews.

Now, why do Qualaroo users or potential users may start to look for an alternative in the first place?

According to G2 reviews, some point to the many limitations the tool imposes. Whether relating strictly to the Qualaroo pricing, cue paying for each 100 responses, or relating directly to features, like the customization limits or lack of sufficient conditional logic.

Now, some also highlight how Qualaroo can be pricey when compared with what it offers. A great example of that is the fact that you have to pay an additional $30 each month just for white labeling your surveys, getting rid of the "Powered by" links.

Knowing that, we can look at seven best alternatives to Qualaroo and why you should consider them. We'll take a look at features, prices, comparison with Qualaroo, and more.

Let's get to it.

1. Survicate

Survicate is a customer feedback platform that covers all types of surveys, from NPS and CSAT to feedback buttons for collecting continuous feedback. Sharing the surveys comes in various ways, from a simple link, through an email, to embedding the survey in your mobile app. Besides just collecting data, Survicate will also help you analyze the insights, with advanced reports and special forces AI features that do all the hard work for you.

Survicate - a powerful, yet effortless to use Qualaroo alternative for collecting and analyzing feedback across the customer journey.

Are you looking for an effortless way to collect customer feedback? No matter where your customers are, you can use Survicate to find out what they think. Your website, email, or even a mobile app, there's a Survicate survey you can use.

There is much to like about Survicate, but let’s start with 400+ survey templates.

There is a survey for every situation, from user and customer experience surveys, content preference surveys, website feedback surveys, and many others. No matter the situation or the stage of the sales funnel.

What's worth highlighting is the fact that Survicate works well with a variety of different apps, making it easy to have your tools work in harmony.

There are integrations with CRMs such as HubSpot, email marketing tools like Mailchimp, communication tools like Slack, and many others. And for everything we don’t have, you can use the Zapier integration to hook things up.

Despite being very powerful, Survicate remains extremely user-friendly thanks to its pleasant UI. Survicate’s survey editor is easy to use, and even if you’re not an experienced designer or developer, you can create surveys in minutes, no coding required.

To make things even easier, you can go for an AI survey creator to build the survey for you.

Considering the fact that the most often mentioned con of Qualaroo were its limitations, Survicate is the perfect alternative to fix that issue. Offering rich features, even including AI feedback data analysis, categorization, and automatic insights extraction, to extensive targeting options, survey logic, survey types, and more.

What's definitely different about Survicate is that it's a tool for not only collecting customer feedback throughout the customer journey, it's also the most helpful in terms of analyzing the data we collect, and therefore improving the user experience and customer satisfaction.

With Insights Hub and Research Assistant—two powerful AI features, feedback analysis will be a breeze. One automatically extracts all the insights you need, while categorizing them into topics. The other lets you dive deeper by delivering any analysis you ask for based on all the data connected. For example, you can ask it to summarize the most often listed cons in Google reviews coming specifically from users based in California.

Survicate vs Qualaroo

In a nutshell, Survicate is a more extensive and flexible survey tool. Qualaroo lacks embedded email surveys, has limited survey design, less extensive targeting of web/in-product surveys, and no AI support when building surveys. Survicate offers more integrations and is more likely to fit smoothly inside your current workflow.

Choose Survicate to access more comprehensive survey channels and reach customers at every stage of the user journey.

What about pricing?

Qualaroo pricing for web surveys is based on page views on survey responses, which is not an ideal solution for scaling. If you have a lot of visitors and few people respond to the survey, you are paying a lot of money without having any insights. In addition, it costs an additional $300 per year to remove the 'powered by Qualaroo' logo.

Survicate, on the other hand, starts out with a pretty impressive free plan that offers email, link, and website, and in-product surveys, a lot of integrations, AI tools for creating surveys, but also innovative ones for analyzing feedback and extracting insights, with the possibility to collect 25 responses per month.

For paid plans, Survicate offers a 10-day free trial for the Best plan. Paid plans start at $99 per month with 500 monthly responses, five team seats, and even more advanced features.

2. Pulse Insights

If you’re looking for an enterprise solution for collecting feedback, Pulse Insights might be the right choice. Dubbing themselves the “enterprise zero party data platform,” Pulse Insights targets large companies looking to improve their customer experience by offering personalized customer feedback collection methods.

Don’t get confused by their website and offering—Pulse Insights is a micro survey platform that lets you use advanced targeting to ask the right questions at the right time to the right audiences. Once you have their replies, the data gets stored in a central feedback repository where you can use it to guide future marketing and sales campaigns.

While the app may be confusing initially, it gets easier to use as time progresses. You can collect customer insights in various forms: top bar, bottom bar, inline, full screen, and more. You can customize all of the forms to match the rest of your website design fully.

On top of that, Pulse Insights comes with open-text AI feedback data analysis, just like Survicate.

But when it comes to costs...

Pricing is unfortunately not public, you’ll have to contact the company to determine how much you will pay. However, according to G2, we can expect to pay even $4000 per month to enjoy Pulse Insights.

The pricing is hard to justify, even for enterprise companies. Especially when compared with other software platforms on this list, which offer similar functionalities for a fraction of the price.

Uncover user needs with product feedback surveys. Target micro surveys to reach the right audience with Survicate.

3. Mopinion

Another well-known option in the customer experience space, Mopinion lets you capture customer feedback across platforms and devices. Many things seem involved, but it boils down to running surveys within your online platforms.

Within the platform, you can run several different survey types:

The editor is easy to use and allows plenty of customization. The drag-and-drop interface lets you change colors, fonts, and designs, all the while choosing a variety of different question types. So, you have all your basic survey needs covered.

The surveys are fully optimized across devices to look and feel the same on a tablet or a big PC monitor. The app also supports translations within the interface, so you can translate one survey into different languages and display it in the right language at the right time—a neat feature for international products.

Regarding integrations, you can look at their website to find various apps it works with, including CRMs, communication tools, and project management tools.

The problem with Mopinion is the pricing. While it has a great feature set, the price of $329 per month for the cheapest plan will be a bitter pill for many. And when you add that this plan has only one dashboard, no translations, and no in-app surveys, it makes more sense to look further.

4. SurveyLab

Want to build more than surveys? SurveyLab offers surveys, forms, quizzes, or even knowledge tests with calculated scores. However, it basically ends at that.

Example dashboard from SurveyLab

SurveyLab seems to be an extensive version of Google Forms, with the listed features focusing on the survey questions we can add. But what makes it more advanced is the addition of quiz creation and integrations.

Speaking of which, you can integrate your SurveyLab surveys with Slack, Salesforce, Dropbox, Zendesk, Cint, Dynata, Zapier, and more. But do note that access to integrations basically starts at the third-tier plan, which will cost you $249 a month. Second-tier plan can only be connected to Google Analytics, while the basic plan has no integrations whatsoever.

So far, SurveyLab is not looking very convincing, because of how simple the tool seems and how outdated it looks.

The best value proposition when compared with Qualaroo is actually the pricing and the amount of responses you get for the price paid.

You can grab the free trial to test it out, while paid plans start at $49 per month. You must opt for the Professional plan at $249/month to unlock advanced survey logic and mobile responses. The cheapest plan gives you up to 1000 survey responses to collect per month.

5. Refiner

Refiner is the most niche tool in this selection. While others target different kinds of businesses, Refiner was built for use in SaaS products only, be it a web or mobile application.

Laser targeted towards SaaS businesses, Refiner makes for a compelling Qualaroo alternative

This is reflected in the survey templates available: NPS, CSAT, product-market fit, product research, and many others. If you don’t want to use a template, you can start a survey from scratch and use common software features such as logic jumps and branching for full personalization and segmentation.

Surveys can be sent in three major ways: in-app, through emails, or on your website. You can analyze the results from a central dashboard and segment users based on their results. Refiner is less covered than some competitors, with just 14 integrations total on the integration side. However, there is Zapier in case you need some extras.

Once surveys are complete, you can send the results to your inbox or get notified in your Slack workspace.

Given its feature set, Refiner is not incredibly expensive. At $99 per month, you get up to 5000 monthly active users and all the above features. The only real limitation is the number of dashboards you can create. You can also try it completely free for 14 days before moving on to a paid plan.

6. GetFeedback

This Qualaroo alternative seems like an enterprise solution for capturing customer feedback across different platforms and formats, but it’s essentially a tool that does surveys. Like competitors, GetFeedback focuses on different survey types (NPS, CSAT, CES) that can be used across other platforms.

With a few extra steps, you can capture this feedback on your website, mobile app, and even in emails and SMS chats. You can get immediate notifications about new survey responses to react quickly and fix issues before they snowball into crises.

Now, when it comes to the costs and basic information, this is when things get a bit difficult.

GetFeedback has been acquired and is now a product of SurveyMonkey.

Unfortunately, we can't compare this tool's pricing with Qualaroo since it's not available at hand. You must get in touch with GetFeedback's customer service or sales team to determine the cost. The free trial can be yours for 14 days.

With some research, we found that the cheapest plan starts at $50 per month, which seems reasonable. However, this only gets you one integration (Salesforce) and does not include mobile surveys.

7. Doorbell

This survey tool promises to be easy to set up and use. Copy and paste one line of code, and you can add surveys to your website or even your mobile app. You can edit the surveys to fit your website design through CSS, and it’s also possible to add different languages.

If you’re looking for the types of feedback that you can collect… You’re going to have a hard time finding out. Their official website does not list what they do - whether it’s forms, surveys, or some other method for collecting feedback. They also don’t mention any survey templates to get you started.

Interestingly enough, they do have quite a few integrations, 30+ to be exact. From project management tools to CRMs to messaging tools like Slack and Twist, you’ll have plenty of tools to connect your feedback to or from.

G2 reviewers refer to Doorbell as a "simple feedback widget" that's easy to add into your workload, but definitely not powerful or modern.

Regarding pricing, Doorbell is competitive at $29 per month. You get five users and complete feedback forms and responses. Interestingly, you don’t get any NPS surveys, which are available only from the Business plan and up.

Choose the best Qualaroo alternative

Qualaroo is a good tool, but there are a few flaws to it.

Whether it's the pricing limitations, like having to pay additionally for white labeling Qualaroo or the features limitations, including non-sufficient skip logic or proper customization, there may be better options to substitute Qualaroo for you.

When comparing the seven best alternatives, we must toot our own horn and deem Survicate as the #1 Qualaroo alternative for many reasons. For one, it's not overpriced, like some tools on this list (wink, wink Pulse Insights and Mopinion). It actually offers a quite powerful free plan that even includes AI analysis features.

For two, it's extremely easy to use thanks to its modern UI.

For three, it allows you to collect feedback from across the journey, whether it happens in the customer's email inbox or your SaaS application, you can create modern and professional surveys in a matter of minutes.

It also supports you in the process of creating the surveys, but also in terms of analyzing the data, with reports, AI features, categorization, topics, connecting feedback data from external tools, like Intercom, and more.

Survicate is a Qualaroo alternative with everything you need to collect and analyze customer feedback in one place.
