Required/optional toggle added for single and multiple choice questions

New Feature

answer required.png

Now, in website and in-product surveys, you can decide whether single- and multiple-choice questions are required or optional. This feature offers greater survey customization and improves response rates by balancing essential questions with optional ones.

How it works

Open the question settings and use the ‘Answer required’ toggle. It's set to ‘Required’ by default.

Survey throttling: Control how often your web surveys appear

New Feature

throttling.png Introducing survey throttling - a new feature that gives you more control over how often your website and in-product surveys pop up for respondents. You can now set a specific time interval—days, weeks, months, or years—that should pass before we show another survey to a respondent after they've seen one.

What’s new

Survey throttling comes with two levels of control:

  • Global level: Set a default interval for all your active website and in-product surveys. Find this option under Survey settings > Web surveys > Survey throttling. It's set to 'none' by default, but you can adjust it as you please. For example, set it to 2 days to ensure there's a 2-day gap between any of your web surveys being displayed to the same respondent.

  • Survey level: Need a different interval for a specific survey? No problem. You can override the global setting on individual surveys. This option is in the Target tab > Frequency > Override global throttling settings. If you activate this, you can set a unique interval just for that survey.

Survey results loading times improved

Improvement

load time.png

We've significantly improved the loading times for survey analysis, so you can access your results much quicker.

For example, a survey with over 800,000 responses now loads in just 1.5 seconds, which is a major speed increase.

Matrix question type now available for website and in-product surveys

New Feature

web matrix q.png You can now use the matrix question type in your website and in-product surveys.

Similar to how it works in email and shareable link surveys, this type of question lets you gather detailed insights by allowing respondents to evaluate multiple items using the same criteria, all in a user-friendly and visually organized way.

Use this question type to efficiently collect comprehensive feedback on your website or in your product.

Create surveys by importing prewritten questions

New Feature

import questions.png You can now easily create a survey by copying questions from any source and pasting them directly into Survicate.

How it works

  1. Prepare your questions in any text editor.

  2. In Survicate, click ‘Create new survey’ and select the ‘Import questions’ option.

  3. Paste your prewritten questions into the survey builder. In seconds, you'll have a fully prepared survey. Our AI will figure out the question types and format for you.

Introducing: Topics - easily analyze text responses with AI

New Feature

topics changelog.png

Analyzing and interpreting open-text survey responses just got a whole lot easier and more efficient with our latest AI-powered feature, Topics. It significantly simplifies and accelerates the task of analyzing text responses by swiftly categorizing them into Topics.

What’s new and why it’s awesome

  • Speed up feedback analysis: The new feature groups text answers into relevant categories quickly and efficiently, so you don’t have to spend hours sorting them manually.

  • Get a birds-eye view of feedback: Understand the majority's sentiment in seconds. Each Topic is displayed along with the number of responses, offering a clear summary of user feedback trends.

  • Draw conclusions faster: Get an immediate overview of your results, so you can make sense of the feedback quickly. You can still explore each category in detail for deeper insights.

  • Scale up your feedback collection: Designed for large datasets, Topics enables you to collect feedback through open-ended questions without worrying about the volume. Even with millions of responses, you'll get valuable insights swiftly.

How it works:

The feature starts working when you have more than 50 text answers, and you can find it in the Analysis panel. We care about keeping personal info safe, so Topics won't be generated for questions that may collect Personally Identifiable Information (PII). Right now, Topics doesn't work with comment field responses but stay tuned for future updates.

Email notifications are now more secure

Improvement

emails.png We've updated our Email Notifications with new opt-in and opt-out features.

What’s new

  • Opt-in confirmation: New Email Notification recipients must verify their email addresses through a confirmation email, preventing unwanted notifications.

  • Easy opt-out: Recipients can now unsubscribe from specific survey notifications or all emails.

  • Universal 'Active' status: An 'Active' status applies organization-wide, meaning verified emails added to new surveys don't require re-confirmation.

These improvements ensure a more secure email notification experience.

NPM packages for website & in-product surveys

New Feature

Two New, Modern Installation Methods for Web Surveys.png

We've introduced two new, secure, and user-friendly methods for integrating website and in-product surveys into web apps: the NPM web package and the NPM wrapper.

What’s new

NPM web package

  • Enhances security by eliminating the need for external scripts.

  • Requires manual updates to access the latest survey features.

NPM wrapper

  • Simplifies the installation of the Survicate tracking code.

  • Automatically updates to the latest version of the Survicate SDK.

How it works

For detailed documentation, visit our developers' page. If you'd like to learn more about installing Survicate with NPM packages, our Help Center has all the information you need.

Event targeting for website and in-product surveys

New Feature

Screenshot 2024-04-04 at 17.14.56 (1).png

We've added new event targeting options for website and in-product surveys, so you can precisely tailor when your surveys appear based on user interactions.

What's new and why it’s useful

  • Target surveys by user events: Set your surveys to trigger based on specific user events. This is available in the Target step, under the Triggers tab, labeled ‘When a user triggers an event.’

  • Target surveys by event properties: Narrow down the events to reach your respondents at the exact moment you want.

  • Flexible conditions: Add multiple properties to an event using 'or' / 'and' operators. The default is 'or', and only one type of operator can be used for each event.

These new targeting options allow you to engage users at the most relevant moments, improving the quality and relevance of the feedback you collect.

How it works

This targeting feature is available to users with access to our JS API. To use it, go to the Triggers tab in the Target step of your survey setup. Here, you can define the necessary events and properties for triggering your survey.

New frequency settings for website and in-product surveys

New Feature

Frequency settings update (1).png

We've added new frequency settings for website and in-product surveys, giving you more control over how many times and how often your surveys are shown to respondents.

What’s new and why you should care

You can now:

  • Choose how many times a survey appears to someone who hasn’t answered it, making sure they won’t see a survey they don’t want to answer too many times.

  • For already answered surveys, you can now decide the frequency of survey reappearance. You can also set a stop date for recurring surveys.

The new frequency settings help maintain a balance between survey visibility and relevance. Better control over frequency lets you prevent survey fatigue and avoid overwhelming your visitors with repeated prompts

How it works

Find these options in the 'Frequency' tab during your survey setup. For a quick guide on setting this up, check our Help Center.
